“California Archaeology Month 2012: The Pleistocene-Holocene Interface ca. 10,000 BC” is a mixed media piece for the Society for California Archaeology’s official Archaeology Month poster; initially 5,000 copies distributed.

The broad concept became specific through research, including fossilized records of megafauna and pollen, to conversations with archaeologists and geologists. The scene features a California environment changing through time, from the late Pleistocene in the background, transitioning to the warmer and arid Holocene in the foreground.  Flora and fauna include camels and deer in pinon-juniper woodland transitioning to desert scrub. Paleo-Indians hunt with Clovis points.
