Art of Nature in Santa Cruz, April 5- June 29
I’ll be exhibiting recent work in this year’s Art of Nature at the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History. Showing artwork by California Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, and students of the CSUMB Science Illustration Graduate Program, for its 25th annual exhibit highlighting the amazing detail and artistry of local science illustrators. See why art is so important to science and our understanding of the natural world. Explore the beautiful world of illustration and test your own skills while drawing Museum specimens in the museum’s Illustration Station. http://santacruzmuseum.org
Live Artist Demonstrations– May 2nd & June 6th, 5-8pm
I’ll be one of the artists on May 2, demonstrating some of my favorite mixed media and ink techniques. Enjoy light refreshments while viewing the exhibit. Part of Santa Cruz’s monthly First Friday Art Tour.
School Tours: Tuesdays-Fridays, May & June
Bring your class to the Museum to explore the exhibit and learn how illustration is used to convey information and connect people with the natural sciences. Students will get to experiment with different types of media, and complete an exhibit scavenger hunt. Contact the Museum for more information
