looking down at the ocean from a cliff, Sonoma County CA
fresco secco panel
This is a detail of a larger fresco secco panel. The colors are natural earth and mineral pigments, white is the plaster underneath. Finished? Possibly. I joke that someone has to stop me, when I paint and scratch back to white; and paint…. This will probably be the piece I enter in the Grand Opening exhibit at the new Sebastopol Center for the Arts gallery, open Dec 1.
This belongs to my series “Elemental”. I’m exploring the almost abstract patterns we see when looking very closely– next, the crumbling stone cliffs of Bodega Head, in Sonoma County CA.
