My rewarding week as a teaching artist… Summary: the future of our world is in good hands.
Early Monday morning, in a November rain, I joined the biology teacher and school gardener at Willowside Middle School’s xeric garden, carefully clipping some of the last blooms and seed-heads before class. Over the next few days I helped guide the eyes, pencils, and focus of nearly 150 7th graders, as they created what can only be described as a celebration of nature.
Just look.
