January studies & sketches… Never underestimate mud, or your own curiosity. (Feeling like a little kid today)
What’s under the woodpile? Salamanders, 1 worm, slugs and snails, a centipede, 2 roly-polies (one is blue) and a ladybug.
Impossibly pink camellias, and underneath:
Underneath the camellia, gorgeous pinky-red mushrooms: Amanita muscaria
Two Slender Salamanders: Batrachoseps attenuatus
Rose hips in January– if you can’t decide which one to draw, just draw them all.
All the above outdoor sketches and studies are made with colored pencil, graphite and watercolor by me, Krista Anandakuttan. More soon!
